Seedling Organic Catering (L.A.): Seedling Catering is located in Los Angeles and focuses on organic, vegan options.
Lucid Food (New York): Based in New York, Lucid Food provides food that is locally grown, seasonal and organic, where possible, as well as wild harvested foods when available. The kitchen also composts 100% of its organic wastes and offers its clients the option of no-waste/low-waste events through a composting and recycling program.
Greg Christian Catering and Events (Chicago): Based in Chicago, Greg Christian specializes in green, local, sustainable and organic cuisine for corporate meetings and corporate events.
Green Truck Catering (Los Angeles): Green Truck Catering specializes in catering to your production in a sustainable, eco-friendly fashion. Local Harvest: A good resource for locating farmer’s markets nearby. The site covers the entire country and provides information on what is sold at each market as well reviews of each farmer’s market in the country.
Greenalicious: A craft service company that strives to serve fresh and healthy foods on any production. They ensure all service wares are biodegradable and non-toxic and their trailer also contains cooled fresh-filtered water in order to cut down on the use of bottled water.
Divine Nourishment: Divine Nourishment Chef Benjamin Haffner brings California Fresh Cuisine to Los Angeles with a colorful, nutrient rich approach, using whole organic foods.

Food Alliance: Food Alliance operates a voluntary certification program based on standards that define sustainable agricultural practices. Food Alliance’s standards are overseen by third-party site inspections. There are over 300 Food Alliance certified farms and ranches, and as the market for sustainable food grows, so too will options for purchase.
Marine Stewardship Council: A London based charity that has, with experts, developed standards for sustainable fishing and seafood traceability. MSC-labeled seafood has had its sources verified and can be traced back to a sustainable fishery.
Monterey Bay Seafood Watch: Learn which types of seafood are threatened and which are being sustainably harvested. Find those restaurants and catering companies participating in the Seafood Watch campaign.
Fair Trade Certified: Learn about the Fair Trade certification process and requirements. Or just find out which products, businesses, and restaurants offer Fair Trade Certified products.

Solar-powered and ecologically minded, the facility is run entirely on alternative energy.
Star Education: STAR Education’s mission is to offer extended educational, recreational, and enrichment programs to students; support and enhance school curriculum; improve student achievement; and expand the cultural base of young people through innovative, quality programs offered by highly qualified instructors. The Expendables Recycler: Specializes in low cost motion picture expendables left over from other productions. Can provide surplus items at 2/3 of their average price. Productions can also sell leftover items. Recommended that you call ahead.
IVB Media Services: IBV is a distributor of both new and evaluated video tape, audio tape, and data media. IVB is an authorized dealer for Sony, Fuji, Maxell, and others. IVB also buys back used or unwanted tape stock.
MSE Media Solutions: MSE Media concentrates on providing the media industry with quality evaluated videotape, at a savings. They also have expanded their catalog and now offer digital tape formats, DVD media, and data backup tape.
FOOD DONATION
Angel Harvest: Angel Harvest is a non-profit organization that picks up untouched leftover food from events, caterers and cafeterias and delivers it to soup kitchens and shelters throughout Los Angeles County.
Los Angeles Regional Food Bank: Los Angeles Regional Food Bank accepts prepared and perishable foods, packaged and canned foods and fresh produce.
Westside Food Bank (Santa Monica): Westside Food Bank accepts prepared and perishable foods, packaged and canned foods and fresh produce. For extra prepared and perishable foods to donate, call 310-828-6016 x12 between 7am and 1pm to discuss pickup and delivery options. For best service, please call at least 1 day in advance if you anticipate possibly having extra food available after an event.

GENERAL EVENT RENTALS
Classic Party Rentals (L.A., San Francisco, New York, Florida): Classic Party Rentals now offers a wide variety of products that are sustainable, biodegradable, or made of recycled content. Classic has also placed an emphasis on recycling left over materials as well as waste at the event. Recycling bins are available for rent as well.
GOVERNMENT RESOURCES
California Integrated Waste Management Board: The CIWMB is a great resource for any business trying to reduce its waste. The site promotes news, activities, relevant laws and many other useful sources of information. They also offer special programs that businesses can be a part of as well as a large database of directories and programs aimed at reducing waste.
City of Los Angeles, Environmental Affairs division: EnvironmentLA website contains information about sustainable and environmentally friendly projects within the Los Angeles area. The website also contains links to other government sites for a range of issues including hazardous waste, land use permits, environmental justice, and recycling.
LA Department of Public Works: The DPW site is focused on waste collection and various topics dealing with issues of waste. The site is an important source of information for recycling, hazardous waste, organic wastes, recycling, etc.
Environmental Protection Agency and CAL EPA: The websites for both the federal and state Environmental Protection Agency offer relevant laws and regulations as well as current legislation covering various environmental issues. The sites also contain useful information, tips, and web forums for discussion.

Green Seal: Green Seal, the environmental certification organization, has a “green lodging” certification that is now in place in both Chicago and Los Angeles. Check back occasionally to see new hotels that have received certification and new cities that have been added to the program.
Green Globe: Green Globe Certification is a sustainability certification for hotels. The certification and Green Globe seal is an independent recognition of sustainability efforts.
INVITATIONS/PAPER PRODUCTS
Earthly Affair.com: Earthly Affair creates earth-friendly invitations, using 100% post-consumer waste (PCW) paper and/or Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified paper with partially recycled content. The company also focuses on recycling and reusing shipping materials, leftover paper scraps and ink cartridges, as well as implementing energy saving practices in its printing studio and offsetting carbon emissions resulting from its shipments.
Greenvites Eco-stationary by Pulp and Circumstance: Pulp and Circumstance offers invitations made with 100% PCW paper products that are processed chlorine-free and are recyclable. It also uses vegetable-based inks, as well as non-toxic toners, if printing digitally. The company is a member of the FSC.
Greg Barber Company: Greg Barber Company provides solutions for environmentally safe printing products, using chlorine free 100% recycled FSC certified and/or 100% PCW paper, soy inks and/or 100% non-toxic toners, as well as offering tree-free paper options.
Greener Printer: Greener Printer is a 100% wind-powered printing company, specializing in one-stop printing, marketing and mailing services. The company uses recycled papers and soy inks, is certified in accordance with FSC standards and provides certified carbon-free shipping.
Conservatree: Company focused solely on providing advice on the purchase of recycled paper. Excellent source of information; compares environmental credentials of various papers, colors available, and where to purchase.
New Leaf Paper: New Leaf Paper offers post-consumer waste content, chlorine free, and non-wood fiber based papers. Their paper products are guaranteed to measure up to comparable, standard virgin brands.
Green Field Paper: Offers a variety of papers made from hemp and post-consumer recycled paper. Numerous types of paper as well as invitations that are embedded with seeds to be planted after receipt.

Richard L. Mosbaugh – Greening L.A.: Richard L. Mosbaugh specializes in designing and building environmentally sound residential landscapes. He is an award-winning Landscape Designer and Licensed Contractor with over 30 years of experience.
Living Green Landscape Co.: Living Green Landscape Co grows their own water wise plants and have found a unique way to blend succulents with other drought tolerant plants to create a very colorful and low maintenance environment.

Forest Stewardship Council: The Forest Stewardship Council provides a list of manufacturers and lumber companies that meet strict standards in its wood certification process promoting sustainable forestry practices. It doesn’t provide retailers.
Columbia Forest Products: Columbia Forest Products is North America’s largest manufacturer of hardwood plywood. They offer FSC certified wood and they are also the innovator of PureBond, formaldehyde-free technologies. Their products are sold at various distributors throughout southern California as well as at Home Depot.
AFM Safecoat: AFM Safecoat is a provider of environmentally responsible, sustainable and non-polluting paints, stains, wood finishes, sealers and related green building products.

Resource Conservation Group, LLC: The Resource Conservation Group offers lumber that is either FSC certified or is reclaimed wood. The reclaimed wood is generally old growth, is of a higher quality than standard wood purchased at a home store, and doesn’t require the cutting down of any trees. Lumber and beams are available for productions, and the Group also specializes in flooring.
Shelter Products, Inc.: Headquartered in Portland, Oregon, SPI can supply all construction needs and is a certified FSC lumber supplier. Orders – large or small – can be shipped from coast to coast.
Film Biz Recyling: A nonprofit organization, creating socially responsible and sustainable solutions from media industry waste.

Coalition for Consumer Information on Cosmetics: The Coalition for Consumer Information on Cosmetics is a database that lists companies producing cosmetics, personal care and household products that are free of animal testing in any phase of product development. Shopping guides are available online.
Skin Deep Cosmetics Safety Database: Skin Deep Cosmetics Safety Database is an online guide to the health and safety of cosmetics and personal care products based on information researched and/or provided by the non-profit Environmental Working Group.

Energy Star: Good background information on energy saving products for prospective purchasers. Also provides a list of products that are Energy Star approved.
Flex Your Power: A resource for anyone interested in ways to reduce energy consumption in businesses and learn more about efficiency. A very informative site.
Office Depot Green: Office Depot offers a variety of office supplies that are green ranging from products made of recycled material to office furniture that is GreenGuard certified.
CIWMB – Buy Recycled: The Recycled Content Product directory lists thousand of products containing recycled materials as well as information about the manufacturers, distributors, and re-processors of these products.
The Green Office: The Green Office is an online retailer of recycled, environmentally friendly, and sustainable business products, school supplies, and paper. They also offer information about office sustainability and carbon offsets.
Green Earth Office Supply: Green Earth Office Supply offers environmentally friendly products online. Their products are generally those that are remanufactured or made from recycled materials, can be recycled or reused themselves, and promote energy conservation.
Dolphin Blue: Dolphin Blue website offers environmentally friendly office supplies. Products sold on the site contain, at a minimum, 20% post-consumer recycled material. Portions of profits are distributed to environmental non-profits.
Recycled Products Cooperative: Office supply store offering recycled and environmentally friendly office products. Products range from copy paper to office supplies to organic coffee. Must be a member of Co-Op America to purchase. Membership is free.
National Green Pages: For any sort of green product or green need, anywhere in the country, use the Co-Op America “National Green Pages.” It is the nation’s only directory of screened and approved green businesses.
Green Clean Maid Services: Green Clean Maid Services is a green cleaning company that uses only biodegradable cleaners that are free of fragrances and dyes.
Cooler Planet: Cooler Planet maintains a large and extensive online directory of solar professionals as well as a section where inpiduals can learn about rebates and incentives.

Star Waggons: Star Waggons was established in 1979 to provide custom location trailers exclusively to the entertainment industry.
EcoNation: EcoNation offers three different low emission vehicles – Prius, GMC Yukon hybrid, and CNG Lincoln Town Cars. They can meet any transportation needs.
OZOCar (New York): OZOcar offers Toyota and Lexus hybrids.
PlanetTran (Boston, San Francisco, San Jose, Oakland): PlanetTran offers scheduled car service exclusively in hybrid vehicles. They serve the airports in the greater Boston and Bay area, but will drive anywhere you need to go within each region.
Hertz: Hertz Green Collection features 4 cars that have an EPA highway rating of 28 miles or more per gallon. Reservations can be made by specific make and model.
Avis: Avis stocks the Toyota Prius for rental in various locations. Check for availability.
EvoLimo (L.A.): EvoLimo offers a fleet of compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicles that provide limo-style seating for four to six. Either a Lincoln Town Car or Chevrolet Suburban.
BLS Limo Services (most major cities nationwide): BLS provides two high end green cars – the Yukon Hybrid and the Lexus SUV hybrid.
EV Rental Cars (L.A., San Diego, Santa Ana, San Francisco, San Jose, Oakland, Phoenix): EV Rental Cars allows the customer to choose from the Prius, Civic Hybrid, and the Highlander Hybrid.
Fox Rent A Car: Fox is a discount car rental company, but they offer hybrid vehicles for rent at all corporate locations and normally offer 5% off hybrid rentals.
Green Limousine (Colorado): Green Limousine provide luxury limo service in Colorado by offering biodiesel powered SUVs that come complete with organic snacks, beer and wines.
Ecoigo (London): Located in central London, Ecoigo offers hybrid executive car service with reservation.
Yellow Cab (San Francisco): At Yellow Cab, 40% of the fleet is operating on compressed natural gas (CNG). They also now have Ford Escape Hybrids as well.
Green Cab (San Francisco): If using Green Cab in San Francisco, ask the dispatcher for a clean cab and they will try to get you a hybrid or CNG vehicle.
Taxi! Taxi! (Santa Monica): In Santa Monica or to and from the airport, Santa Monica taxi offers hybrid and biodiesel fueled taxis.
Virgin Limo (San Francisco and Los Angeles): Virgin Limo offers a full variety of limo and executive town cars as well as Lexus SUV hybrids.
Driven Eco: Driven Eco offers luxury ground transportation in a variety of hybrid and alternative fuel vehicles. Based in New York, Driven Eco can provide luxury eco-car service throughout the country.
Four Seasons Coach Leasing: Should you require a full size coach (bus), Four Seasons offers a variety of styles and they can run on varying blends of biodiesel.
British Airways: British Airways provides a voluntary carbon emission calculator on its website and offers its customers the option of purchasing offsets.
Air Canada, Cathay Pacific, Delta, Virgin Blue: These airlines also offer their customers the option of purchasing carbon offsets for traveling.
Continental Airlines: Continental Airlines has invested over $16 billion in more fuel efficient aircraft. It has also installed winglets on its 737 and 757 model planes, reducing emissions by 5% or more.
Virgin Airlines: Virgin has been investing in biofuels and has created an entity focused on its investment called Virgin Fuels.
WASTE DISPOSAL
FaERI: FaERI is a new non-profit organization based in the northeast. For less than the cost of a production assistant over the course of the shoot, FaERI will provide an on-site assistant dedicated solely to recycling and diversion of waste. The FaERI representative is treated as another crew member, is trained in matters of recycling and waste diversion, and brings their own recycling bins. Throughout the day, this “on set recycler” keeps the waste sorted, manages the recycle bins and is also responsible for bringing waste to a local recycling facility. As the service becomes more well-known, the organization will expand to other cities and locations, as needed.
The ReUse People: The ReUse People is a non-profit organization that works with movie productions to break down and dispose of sets. The organization breaks down the set entirely and, wherever possible, finds other organizations to which materials can be donated. Any further set materials are disposed of with an emphasis on recycling. Time required for set breakdown is based upon the variety and extent of materials and, as a general principle, will cost more than simple set demolition.
L.A. SHARES: L.A. SHARES is a non-profit materials reuse program that takes donations from local business organizations and redistributes the materials to other non-profits and local schools. The service is free of charge throughout Los Angeles County and arrangements can be made for free pick up from locations.
Earth911: Earth911 is an online portal that provides a directory of recycling drop off locations based upon the type of material to be recycled. The directory has multiple sections including automotive, household, lawn and garden, electronics, and plastics.
Hollywood CPR: Hollywood CPR is a non-profit organization offering vocational training to underprivileged individuals wishing to gain experience in the artists, crafts, and technicians departments. HCPR runs a non-profit “prop house” that accepts donations of props, set dressings, furniture, tools, and lumber.
Waste Management – Temporary Disposal: Waste Management provides on-site, temporary bins and roll-offs that can be delivered and picked up on schedule.
Green Planet Productions: Green Planet Productions is a new organization that specializes in on-set recycling. For a fee, Green Planet Productions will staff a production with a “green PA” who takes care of all recycling needs, including proper disposal of the waste. GPP is involved in a “finder program” through which suitable materials can be donated rather than disposed.
County of Los Angeles Department of Public Works Hazardous Waste Disposal and Recycler Locator: Permanent collection centers accept electronic waste, batteries and fluorescent light bulbs. Call specific centers for hours of operation and types of waste accepted.
Construction Materials Recycling Association (CMRA): The CMRA provides a list of member companies and agencies by state that recycle recoverable construction and demolition materials.
Athens Services – COMPOSTING AVAILABLE: Provides food waste and organic recycling services for restaurants, food service businesses and events. The program includes drop-off and pick-up of a dumpster for organic waste, which is then taken to a composting facility in Sun Valley and turned into by-products such as soil amendments and fertilizers. Athens offers monthly service contracts or services for one-off events.
Resource Conservation Group, LLC: The Resource Conservation Group specializes in reclaimed wood, and will accept materials from productions on a case-by-case basis. Should any lumber be old growth, contact the Group and they will arrange pick-up free of charge, and in some cases, may even pay for it.
WASTE DISPOSAL – ELECTRONIC RECYCLING
California Recycles: California Recycles offers business pick-up of recyclable materials including CDs, DVDs, tapes and all other forms of electronic waste. Charges will vary depending on the weight of the pick-up. California Recycles also accepts drop off of materials at their facilities for recycling.
E-Cycle Environmental: Recycles DVDs, CDs, tapes as well as monitors, computers, printers, fax machines, and gray product. If you can plug it in or it has a circuit board, they can recycle it.
