The Environmental Media Association (EMA) Awards are presented to recognize outstanding use of environmental themes in the following categories: Television Episodic Comedy, Television Episodic Drama, Children’s Television, Documentary, Reality Program and Feature Film. In addition, the Turner Award, initiated by the Turner Foundation, is presented to the writer(s) of the prime time television episode that best deals with the issue of population growth or the empowerment of women.

The prestigious EMA Board of Directors Ongoing Commitment Award will be presented to Cindy Horn and Lyn Lear for their lifelong dedication to the environment and their humanitarian lifestyle. The EMA FuturesAwardwill be given to Cassidy & Cody Horn and Ben Lear for their growing environmental commitment and activism. This particular Award respects the efforts of these young people and anticipates the amazing philanthropic years ahead of them.
The Honorable Al Gore will deliver the keynote address and present the EMA Board of Directors Ongoing Commitment Award. In keeping with the “family” theme, Tipper Gore will introduce her husband. All of the celebrity presenters will be “parent/child” teams.
