EMA and LAUSD: GET TO KNOW YOUR LOCAL SCHOOL GARDENS

Saturn Elementary is still in the planning phases of their garden but working hard to move the process forward this year. The advisory committee has enlisted the help of many talented professionals and they now have a comprehensive plan, of which the garden is but one part of a larger effort to green the school.
The overall goal is to create a garden that adds components of a community garden as well, and hopefully increase community involvement within the area. In addition to the garden, look for rainwater capture, irrigation systems, and grassy swales for the children to use.
